Justice)Job Location: Correctional facilities at Harding Place and
Gay Street Nashville, TNSchedules available: 1) Sun-Thurs
9:00am-5:30pm, 2) Thur-Sat 8:30am-9:00pm 3) Sun-Wed
7:00am-4:30pmJOB SUMMARY: Screen, assess, and refer inmates in the
Davidson County Sheriffs Office (DCSO) custody for psychiatric
services. Provide on-going medication checks and crisis
intervention services for inmates in DCSO
custodyRESPONSIBILITIES:Respond to referrals made by medical and
intake staff, as well as, community service providers, family
members, court professionals, DCSO staff, and inmate-initiated
requests.Assess inmates psychiatric needs and refer inmates
appropriately to mental health services, specifically psychiatric
evaluation and medication management.Screen new admits to DCSO
jails for mental health services and participate in early
identification system for inmates with mental illness.Liaison with
Vanderbilt Forensic Team to coordinate regarding
recommendations.Liaison with DCSO Mental Health Coordinator and
medical provider regarding new admissions, forensic evaluations,
and inmates in crisis.Rotate on-call responsibilities with other
staff.Respond to jail to complete face-to-face assessment for
admittance to sub-acute status (safe room) for observation and
crisis intervention.Write initial Certificate of Need, if
appropriate.Provide follow-up services for consumers seen in crisis
and those who return from the RMHI.Work cooperatively in a team
environment with staff of MHC and MCRT, as well as, staff from
DCSO, Metro Health Department, Hospital Authority, Medical
Provider, the Court and its officers, and CMHCs.Aid in
implementation of APN and Psychiatrists orders regarding inmates
treatment plan.Refer to Discharge Planner, if appropriate.Liaison
with various service providers and pharmacies to ensure adequate
and rapid medication verification.Participate in treatment team
meetings. Participate in weekly meeting with the Medical
Provider.Participate in weekly meetings with DCSO Mental Health
Coordinator and his staff.Maintain accurate records and complete
paperwork in a timely manner. Attend training sessions as directed
by Supervisor.Responsible for attending all mandatory in-services,
continuing education and annual health requirements.Follow all
policies and procedures set by the Agency.REQUIREMENTSMasters
degree in Behavioral Health (M.A., M.S.) or equivalent.To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily.Must be licensed or license eligible
in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field. (LMSW, LCSW,
LMFT, LPC)Must have personal vehicle, personal automobile
insurance, and a valid Tennessee Drivers LicenseAcceptable Motor
Vehicle Report (MVR)Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation &

assessments, understands importance of gathering collateral
information, uses consultation appropriately, progress note
indicates plan was explained to Consumer, ability to thoroughly and
accurately explain and document assessment and recommend
interventions/dispositions, solid working knowledge of the DSM
diagnostic guidelines.Time Management/Organization Meet deadlines,
prepared for meetings, assessments occur in a timely fashion from
the date the referral or request is received, progress notes are
entered timely, administrative and reports are addressed in a
timely fashion, plan for time off, prioritize well,
