An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within an educational setting. This contract role requires expertise in facilitating clear and effective communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring accessibility during virtual learning sessions. Responsibilities include: Providing accurate and professional sign language interpretation during telehealth consultations and virtual classroom activities Collaborating with educators and healthcare providers to support communication needs in remote learning environments Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to established policies regarding student information Adapting interpretation techniques to suit telehealth platforms and technological tools used in educational settings Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with previous experience interpreting in educational or telehealth contexts Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication strategies Ability to manage virtual communication tools effectively Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Capacity to work independently in a remote contract role Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia (remote telehealth services with occasional on-site requirements) This position is offered as a 1099 contract, providing flexibility and autonomy in scheduling.
