When you apply as a diesel mechanic at Averitt, there's no telling how far you'll go.Diesel Mechanic Job Description:Work on modern, low-mileage, private fleet equipment (Volvos and/or Freightliners with Cummins, Volvo and Detroit engines) in clean, safe shop facilitiesProvide bumper-to-bumper preventive maintenance service and/or repair to tractors, trailers and Toyota forkliftsUse computers for diagnostics and troubleshootingElectrical troubleshooting; tire maintenance; minor transmission repair; brake and air conditioning system repairRecent graduates welcome!Diesel Mechanic Benefits:$2,500 tool bonus for qualified mechanics ($1,250 after 90 days, remainder after 180 days)Competitive pay making $29.85/hour $33.05/hour, based on how long you're on the clock, not just how many hours you spend fixing an issueRaises evaluated every 90 daysPosition works Wednesday thru Saturday 5:30 p.M. to 6:00 a.M.4-day work week available (select locations)Paid time off including 8 paid holidaysUniforms provided and routinely cleanedExcellent insurance coverage that includes medical, prescription, dental, vision and hearing starting as low as $94.55/week for family plans and $36.45/week for individual plans effective after 30 daysCompany-paid life insurance and short-term disability benefitsProfit Sharing plan allows you to share in the rewards of our efforts, with a portion of our profits given back to you as monthly direct deposits into your retirement accountReferral rewards cash bonuses for referralsReady to make a change?
