Quality Engineer - New Product Introduction

Job Description:

The New Product Introduction

(NPI) Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that new products meet the

highest levels of quality and achieving seamless timing to the marketplace in

support of our Smyrna TLC location(s). This position provides oversite,

facilitation, standardization of processes and reporting activities to ensure a

best-in-class New Product Introduction. This role requires expert knowledge of advanced

quality planning, product qualification, and program management systems. Must

have the ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment to create

operational excellence. This role will collaborate with Procurement, Program

Management, Engineering, Failure Analysis and Operations for bring products to

the market efficiently and with the expected quality level.



Prepare project timelines and identify required

resources for a Quality planning and execution of New Product Introduction


Create and execute product test plans


Own and drive corrective action for New Product

Qualification issues


Insure accurate, timely and complete Product

Qualification reports


Monitor status of all new products and ensure

effective execution of projects according to policies and procedures.


Act as Product Quality subject matter expert for

all New Product launches


Create comprehensive test and evaluation plan to

insure new products are properly evaluated and meet performance requirements

prior to program launch


Review all New Product Qualification reports for

accuracy and completeness


Coordination with Product Engineering, Program

Management, Failure Analysis and Procurement to execute launches


Analyze and recommend corrective actions in the

case of a qualification failure





Analytical skills (qualitative and

quantitative), problem solving and root cause analysis.


Strong communication, presentation, facilitation

and meeting coordination skills.


Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel,

PowerPoint, SharePoint and DAX.


Strong organizational and customer service



Strong ability to multitask while meeting





Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related field preferred.

Education level combined with job specific related experience may be



Two to five years' experience in the quality

profession is required


Two to five years' experience with product

quality launch activities is required.


Experience with electronic/cellular products is preferred.


Corrective Action and Continuous Improvement



Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may spend 4-8 per

day sitting and working at a computer.

The ability to adjust focus, use hands to grasp, finger, handle, reach

or feel and sit for prolonged periods are needed for this position. Ability to receive detailed information

through oral communication utilizing a headset.
