RF Test Engineer

Job Description:

The Test

Engineer will fill a key role within the Global Product Engineering

organization. This position will have primary responsibility for various

projects required by the Supply Chain, including but not limited to: defining, implementing

and supporting test processes in reverse logistics warehouse and

remanufacturing facilities. This will entail managing several test projects

simultaneously. Development of RF test scripts and routines utilizing RF Test

Systems to ensure devices meet defined product specifications. Integration of

internal and external test and measurement equipment to Shop Floor Management

system.

The Test

Engineer will drive test process efficiency improvements increasing test

throughput while maintaining and improving integrity of test and quality of

product shipped.

Support New

Product Introduction team on the introduction of New Products into global

facilities. Work closely with the corporate App Development team, Quality

and IT teams to analyze test data, troubleshoot, and identify product defects,

verify fixes and document test results. Review product specifications and

documentation and develop comprehensive test strategy to provide necessary

coverage. Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and results to

project team.

The position

will assist in driving Engineering projects through data driven decisions,

solid scientific methodologies, excellent documentation, project planning /

execution and analytics. This individual will be responsible for a wide range

of activities to include: project management, process development, research,

test method analysis and development, full documentation while working with

other departments locally and globally.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS






  • Responsible for test plan development and execution,

    results analysis, root cause identification, and reporting
  • Develop automated Test processes to enhance and ensure

    the reliability and quality of new and existing products
  • Ensure compliance with software development verification

    processes.
  • Lead projects to introduce software enhancements/fixes

    within production operations and third-party suppliers. Controlling engineering

    and project management activities for all stages of the change management/deployment process.
  • Recognize problems that need further investigation, seek

    assistance when needed, demonstrates initiative and self-motivation.
  • Scrutinize current procedures and identify areas where

    meaningful benefits can be achieved.
  • Review existing test processes for waste/lean opportunities
  • Support and direct test technicians.
  • Support Operations as a technical expert with the testing

    & software. Provides leadership for all tests and diagnostics used in

    product engineering, Warehouse re-manufacturing, outgoing quality inspection,

    returned devices and supplier quality.
  • Support NPI readiness process from Test Engineering.

      MINIMUM

      REQUIREMENTS

      Skills/knowledge:





      • Knowledge of end to end software development,

        verification and deployment processes.
      • Experience with mobile telecommunication technologies and

        protocols, CDMA 4G/LTE and 5G
      • In depth knowledge RF testing methodology
      • Expertise in RF Test Systems. Anritsu, Rohde &

        Schwarz, or Agilent/Keysight
      • Antenna positioning/isolation

        boxes
      • Expertise in developing mobile device software

        applications on Android and iOS platforms.
      • Experience in designing and programming test software

        solutions in C, C , Java, Python
      • Expertise in developing application-based test software

        for emerging/new application architectures and implementing test HW interfaces
      • Ability to build internal and external cross functional

        relationships.
      • Proven knowledge and demonstrated application of

        engineering concepts and skills required.
      • Proven understanding of software systems, application-based

        software development and the process required to produce required deliverables.
      • Experience in testing methodologies and theories, test

        plan development, test case design, test execution practices, optimization of

        test coverage versus costs
      • Data collection and root cause analysis techniques, and

        reporting practices required
      • Project management skills required
      • Change management skills required
      • Basic knowledge of Statistics required
      • Good oral and written communication skills required
      • Understanding of manufacturing methods beneficial


        Experience/education:





        • Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical

          Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent discipline is

          required.
        • Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Test Engineer

          or Application Based Software Development in Computer or Mobile

          Telecommunications Industry
        • Experience with mobile telecommunication technologies and

          protocols, GSM, LTE CDMA, 5G etc.
        • Project leadership experience is a significant plus


          Physical

          demands:

          Bending, sitting, lifting, and standing based on the need of the business.

          Standing and/or sitting for extended and long periods of time, up to 100

          of

          shift or over time.

          Work

          environment:

          Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job including close

          vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and

          ability to adjust focus. Vocal communications are required for expressing or

          exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and/or to communicate with

          customers and/or clients. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal

          spoken word levels and in environment with loud machinery.

          Exposure to

          heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, and such matters as demands for overtime or

          shift work. Exposure to various materials including cardboard, various metals

          and plastics. Exposure to moving equipment and objects in the immediate work

          area such as automated machinery, fulfillment line, heavily laden carts, and

          forklifts. Exposure to tools or material with sharp edges which may involve the

          risk of injury.
