Process Innovation Manager, Supply Chain
Location: Smyrna, TN

What you will be doing:
The Process Innovation Manager will own AE (advanced exchange),
competitive intelligence, and risk management for specific client
accounts, responsible for using data and inputs from the supply
chain team to complete analysis and make decisions to inform
program strategy, balancing financial targets and risk. Depending
on the project or decision, this person will also be responsible
for keeping track of targets and deadlines to make sure we deliver
new or different capabilities on time and on budget. This person
will help build and utilize dashboards to monitor program & market
intelligence metrics and provide commentary (with input from the
supply chain team) on why metrics are on or off track & new risks.
When new risks and opportunities are identified, this person will
help the team formulate fact sets, build action plans, and monitor
improvements against those plans to reduce risk and inform program
strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance tracking and monitoring
Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for their program and work
with teams across supply chain to ensure there is appropriate
prioritization, ownership, and monitoring for their metrics.
Ability to understand and challenge potential program changes as
accounts evolve, ensure teams are aware of changes, and understand
how these changes impact performance & risk monitoring.
Identify, gather, and maintain competitive intelligence metrics to
inform program opportunities, potential risk, and build program
guidelines
Understand, document, and review end-to-end supply chain processes
against operational goals & guiding principles. This will help
identify process gaps, program risks (internal and external),
similarities and differences by program that may need to be
standardized and identify potential areas to explore for initiative
savings.
Influence others to investigate issues and hold them accountable to
report back findings and solutions that align with our program
guidelines to the broader program team.
Ability to review processes and standards to identify program
risks, working with area owners to identify gaps and required
solutions
Program decision making
Ability to understand program economics across functional areas,
products, and clients related to risk ownership and use this
understanding to guide decisions for maximizing profitability.
Determine when more impactful decisions need broader alignment and
ensure there is alignment and awareness across appropriate
stakeholders before decisions are made.
Ensure that decisions made comply with all contractual agreements
and provide guidance on program guidelines and risk to facilitate
new opportunity exploration with key functional owners
Use various tools, data, and analytics to complete financial,
operational, and strategic analysis, as well as gather market
intelligence. Use that analysis to make decisions on potential
changes or the best path forward. This should include financial
impacts but also impacts to customers and external partners as well
as dependencies, opportunities, and risks to present all relevant
data for decision makers.
Provide inputs into pricing exercises. These inputs will be
gathered from dashboards or analysis from multiple sources but will
potentially need to be adjusted to address each pricing exercise.
Be able to articulate key underlying assumptions on inputs
provided.
Program Communication
Ability to distill highly complex information to create simple
messaging to present decisions to leadership within supply
chain.
Work cross functionally with business partners to coordinate the
flow of information and assimilate data necessary to prepare
dashboarding and presentations for use in recurring meetings with
varying audience levels, including key market data/intelligence to
inform broader program strategy
Determine when issues are impactful enough that escalation is
needed to drive resolution (examples include systematic or
operational issues that need immediate prioritization or focus).
Escalate to leadership and communicate progress on resolution to
stakeholders.
Serve as a key business connection between supply chain and
finance, communicating changes, trends, and forecast inputs to
finance to keep our financial projections as updated as
possible.
Issue & Risk Management
In a complex and dynamic business such as ours, things break, and
exceptions arise. When alerted by leaders across supply chain of an
event that requires research, this person will work with the supply
chain team to identify what happened, what we may need to do to fix
it, and communicate the internal/external implications related to
the issue.
Identify new risks to the program and work with correct owners to
collect relevant information to inform potential new opportunities
or changes
Identify root causes of issues and hold the supply chain team
accountable to provide solutions that will work to minimize risk
and provide guidance on a sustainable path forward. Occasionally
this will require additional opportunity cost analysis to get
leadership buy-in.
Project Management
Constantly solicit ideas for initiatives and projects that could
help drive financial benefit from partners and stakeholders
Compile or validate analysis to determine financial benefit of
initiatives.
Lead alignment conversations with cross-functional teams to
prioritize and execute initiatives that improve processes or
financial results.
Hold team members accountable for pulling together project plan
timelines and deliverables.

Here's what you'll bring to the team :
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain
Management, or equivalent experience required; consulting
experience considered a plus
4+ years of work experience; cross-functional experience preferred
(examples: multiple business lines, multiple departments within
supply chain)
Strong process understanding, ability to challenge the status quo,
and ask tough questions in large forums - able to understand a new
process, create documentation, and identify areas of opportunity &
risk
Strong understanding of key performance drivers related to supply
chain including equipment and logistics cost, shrink, excess &
obsolescence, inventory carrying cost, etc. and the ability to use
this understanding to drive decisions and performance
Self-starter with strong desire to lead a team of direct and
indirect reports across many leadership levels through complex
problems to achieve desired outcomes
Systems aptitude and experience with Excel; including but not
limited to developing complex formulas, financial or analytical
scenario analysis with large and complex data sets.
Experience and proficiency with PowerPoint to communicate complex
findings with business partners and leaders, as well as document
results
Experience building efficiency in data gathering, analysis, and
reporting through repeatable structure or automation; experience
with SQL, VBA, PowerBi, etc. considered a plus
Position requires a strong verbal & written communication skill set
and the ability to communicate well with all levels of management
as well as across various disciplines
A strong ability to manage ambiguity, balancing between operation
execution and strategic planning
- Ability to maintain multiple/overlapping deadlines and deliver in
a timely order
