Learning Management Systems Analyst

Salary: $45,174 - $48,174
Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle
Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven

General Function:
Supports the development and maintenance of the learning management
system(s) for traditional and blended learning courses, online
modules, and related programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree earned from a regionally accredited institution
in Education or Computer Information Systems. Three years of
Learning Management System experience in a community college
setting including experience in administration, design, and
delivery of instructional material utilizing distance learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in
Education or Computer Information Systems. Four years of Learning
Management System experience in an educational setting including
experience in learning management system maintenance and
administration for systems, such as Blackboard, Canvas,
Brightspace, Moodle, etc., that includes experience in designing
and delivering instructional material utilizing distance
learning.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide the necessary support for the routine and daily
operation, use, and configuration of the LMS in a college
environment
- Collaborate with instructional/publisher software products
vendors as needed to implement (plug-ins and integrations) into the
LMS
- Monitors and provides immediate response to problems and
emergencies affecting normal operations of the LMS.
- Develop and provide faculty and staff training in the use of the
LMS used by the college; Assist faculty, staff, and students with
LMS problems beyond the scope of the Motlow Help Desk; Develop LMS
support materials, including tutorials, orientations, help
sessions, and workshops.
- Plan, conduct, and review research in the use of instructional
technology
- Collaborate with faculty and other subject area specialists to
improve the online and hybrid curricula in various program areas;
Evaluate online and hybrid courses for delivery of content and
adherence to best practices
- Identify and communicate accessibility improvements to course
components, such as assessments, course files, pictures (alt text),
and video transcription.
- Provide feedback on course component usage, defects, broken
links, etc., to course faculty members and the Dean of Academic
Technology
- Assist with and monitor student evaluation of instruction for
online courses and disseminate results of evaluations with
appropriate academic deans
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the use of emerging and mobile technologies
- Knowledge and experience with online/hybrid instructional
environments
- Ability to demonstrate detail-oriented, organizational skills
- Knowledge of computers and computer systems (including hardware
and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter
data, and process information
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate
effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in
a diverse community
- Ability to develop professional documents and make individual or
group presentations to diverse stakeholders including faculty,
staff, executives, and internal or external stakeholders
- Ability to troubleshoot LMS and browser-related settings for
solutions/workarounds for technical issues experienced by
instructors, staff, and students
