Motlow State is the fastest growing college in Tennessee. We are
located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and have
four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. We offer a

Master s degree in research or related field. Candidate should have
demonstrated understanding of the Southern Association of Colleges
and School Commission on Colleges, Principals of Accreditation,
concept of continuous cycles of improvement, and college-wide
Institutional Effectiveness processes and plans. Candidate
understands and can relay research methodologies, interpretation
and training on use of data, and present data in written and oral
formats. Experience with Microsoft Office and data analysis
required. Experience with survey software/data manipulation
packages and institutional assessment practices.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master s degree. Candidates
should have at least three (3) years of experience in a position
working in a research environment involving data collection
reporting and analysis, while also interacting with various
departments and individuals. Familiarity working with large
data-sets and student information systems is strongly
The Assistant Director of Institutional Effectiveness and
Assessment is responsible for the review, collection, maintenance,
and reporting of institutional data and the preparation of reports
essential to institutional effectiveness, accreditation and
strategic planning. The Assistant Director assists the Chief of
Staff and Director of Institutional Effectiveness in accreditation,
research and support for departmental and institutional training
efforts. The Assistant Director assists the Chief of Staff and
Director of Institutional Effectiveness in planning, reporting and
training staff in planning, data analysis and problem solving.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

and may be modified as needs of the College may dictate)
* Provide support to departments in planning, reporting,
coordinating and implementing the Tennessee Board of Regents
strategic and operational initiatives following the institutions
* Develop and implement research and data strategies that inform
institutional decision-makers and align those plans with the
institutional strategic plan and accreditation cycle.
* Gather, process, coordinate, analyze and communicate data to
inform decision-making and improve institutional effectiveness.
* Create, submit and update standard institutional reports.
* Support institutional teams and departments in planning,
developing and implementing institutional plans, including
assessment data collection, reporting, analysis, and communication
using selected technology tools.
* Continuously discover and evaluation new methods of employing
technology to improve assessment data planning, analysis, reporting
* Plan and provide professional development to department liaisons
in the use of institutional planning tools, problem solving
processes, and data analysis.
* Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Master s Degree or equivalent in education research,
organizational management, social science research, statistics,
business, or related field.
* Ability to create project-appropriate research methods, conduct
statistical analysis, and clearly communicate results using
multiple forms such as: public presentation of written reports,
* Ability to communicate simple and clear conclusions from complex
and large datasets.
* Ability to interpret and present conclusions and recommendations
derived from accreditation and legal standards.
* Strong interpersonal, organization, project management and
collaboration skills required to work with a variety of individuals
and groups on a wide variety of projects and initiatives.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while
maintaining attention to detail and data quality standards.
* Willingness to research, recommend, and learn new technologies
