Position Summary: Plans, implements, and evaluates care of those
patients undergoing moderate sedation procedures in a timely and
accurate manner. Responsible for ensuring appropriate follow up
care is coordinated based on radiology findings and Radiologist's
recommendation. Position Requirements: Formal Education / Training:
• Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
• Licensed in the State of Tennessee. • ACLS certification or agree
to obtain within 6 months of hire. • BLS within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience: Three years of nursing experience in a
cardiac unit and/or CT in Radiology preferred. Patient Care
Delivery Equipment and Skills Training: Standard patient care
equipment for services provided. The ability to work well under
pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be
flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of
settings. Equipment: Omnicell Medication System, Meditech Computer
System and AT&T Language Line. Physical Environment: Radiology
department with patient population ranging from less than one year
of age> ninety-nine plus years of age. Physical Effort: •
Requires the ability to communicate in English orally and in
writing. • Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve
hours a day. • Requires the ability to lift and turn patients with
assistance up to 250 lbs Key Results: Performs a comprehensive
assessment on all patients within the appropriate time of admission
utilizing skills of observation, communication and examination;
including data obtained from patient, family and other members of
the healthcare team. Plans the patient's care on an individual
basis, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of
care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems
and attainable outcomes. Collaborates with appropriate radiology
team and nursing departments to effectively coordinate the delivery
of patient care in a timely manner Plans for patient teaching,
discharge instructions and post discharge needs as appropriate for
patient population. Functions independently with treatments,
procedures and equipment appropriate to areas evidence by adherence
to policy, procedure and competency based assessment and no pattern
or trend of problem. Handles/ transports/ stores/ prepares/
administers medications/ solutions safely and in accordance with
hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Reassess
patient's condition, evaluate patient response and modify plan of
care accordingly and in a timely manner. Assists with moderate
sedation and recovery of diagnostic and invasive procedures as
directed by the Radiologist/Physician. Including Cardiac CTA and
Cardiac MRI procedures. Documents accurately and timely. Monitors
and utilizes Radiology Follow-up Module appropriately and
effectively to coordinate follow up referrals or appointments as
needed ensuring continuum of care for the patient. Maintains work
areas and personal appearance in a way that reflects our
professionalism and demonstrates to our patients, visitors, and
coworkers the importance we place on cleanliness, orderliness, and
