Job Summary and Qualifications Emergency Room Nurse The Freestanding Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Maintains a safe therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while utilizing an interdisciplinary approach. Participates in performance improvement activities. Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement. When acting in the charge nurse role, registered nurses are responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment. Make staff assignments based on patient needs, acuity, and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resources for the staff. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physicians, staff, or patient issues. What you will do in this role: - You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions while maintaining accurate and detailed records - You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's condition. - You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served. - You will promote hospital customer service initiatives. - You will utilize the nursing process for individual care to meet the needs of patients. - You will demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures. What qualifications you will need: - Current RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state - Current BLS - ACLS and PALS within 1 year of employment - CPI within 6 months of employment - 1 Year of RN Experience - ER experience highly preferred Serving our community for the past 40 years, TriStar Southern Hills has been a leader for a wide range of healthcare services.
