Job Summary and Qualifications Cardiac Cath Lab Tech’s demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients served. They are able to scrub and assist the physician during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic studies. Additionally, they are responsible for recording and monitoring these cases, as well as understanding hemodynamic measurements and valve area readings. What You Will Do in This Role · Assist physicians during interventional cardiovascular procedures, including scrubbing and sterile field setup. · Administer contrast media and medications according to age- and weight-specific guidelines and within regulatory scope. · Start and maintain IV access; monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, reporting any abnormalities. · Prepare patients by reviewing their medical history, positioning them, and prepping procedure sites. · Operate and maintain imaging and lab equipment; report malfunctions and follow lock/tag-out procedures when necessary. · Accurately document procedures in Meditech and verify imaging in PACS. · Interpret and report test results, recognizing and correcting artifacts or recording errors. · Handle and dispose of radioactive waste in compliance with safety regulations. · Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment. · Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. What Qualifications You Will Need Candidates must have one of the following: · Current license or registry certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or the ability to obtain this certification prior to hire. · OR Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)]. Additional requirements: · BLS certification required. · Completion of ACLS training within six months of hire. · Strong interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees. · Minimum of one year of experience working in Special Procedures or Interventional Radiology. · Willing to help support interventional radiology as needed, cross trained provided. · Willing to work on a PRN basis and availability to provide call coverage, as needed. · New graduates of RCIS programs will also be considered. · Ability to work PRN (as needed) with a requirement of either two shifts per month, two call shifts per month, or a combination of both. Call shifts are from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends, with one summer and one winter holiday commitment. TriStar Summit is a 230 bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center. We offer a full array of acute care services. These include cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation and women’s services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI. We are a Primary Stroke Center.
