Job Description The Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt
University School of Medicine seeks two (2) Pediatric Nephrologists
at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Division
of Pediatric Nephrology & Hypertension at Monroe Carell Jr.
Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Our division has delivered
outstanding patient care, training, and research in pediatric
nephrology for 30 years, with comprehensive inpatient and
outpatient programs spanning dialysis (PD, HD, CRRT), therapeutic
apheresis, kidney transplantation, and supports multiple
subspecialty units (Pediatric, Neonatal, and Cardiac ICUs).
Position Highlights - Provide comprehensive pediatric nephrology
care across inpatient and outpatient settings, including management
of AKI/CKD, glomerular diseases, congenital anomalies,
hypertension, nephrolithiasis, and transplant patients. - Perform
and oversee renal replacement therapies such as PD, HD, CRRT, and
therapeutic apheresis, collaborating closely with PICU, NICU, and
Cardiac ICU teams. - Support and help lead the pediatric dialysis
unit, including home and in?center modalities, and coordinate care
for transplant evaluation and post?transplant transition -
Inpatient Responsibilities: Provide consultative and co?management
support across the children’s hospital (ICUs, surgical subspecialty
wards), with access to modern CRRT and apheresis therapies -
Outpatient Responsibilities: Staff general pediatric nephrology and
subspecialty clinics, including the Hypertension and Pediatric
Kidney Stone Clinics, while providing longitudinal care for
children with CKD and other pediatric nephrology conditions. -
Contribute to growth in established dialysis, transplant, AKI, and
hypertension management programs, with opportunities to further
develop quality improvement, medical education, and
data/informatics?enabled care pathways - Teach and mentor trainees
within a strong academic environment supported by the School of
Medicine, the pediatric residency program, and the Pediatric
Nephrology & Hypertension fellowship, including exposure to
dialysis, transplant, biopsies, apheresis, and renal pathology. -
Participate in scholarly activity aligned with division strengths
such as clinical research, QI, medical education, kidney injury,
CKD progression, hypertension, and glomerular disease. -

Qualifications - MD/DO, Board?Certified in Pediatrics, BC/BE in
Pediatric Nephrology, and able to obtain a Tennessee Medical
