RN in Chattanooga, Tennessee, 37404! Job Title: Registered Nurse -
ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13
Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience:
Minimum 2 Years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS,
BLS Required; CCRN Preferred Must-Have: Cardiac critical care
experience Ability to care for patients post open heart surgery, a
minimum of 1 to 2 days post-op Experience with Impella heart pump
and CRRT preferred Description: This position is for a Registered
Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. The unit typically has a total of
12 beds. The standard patient ratio is 1 RN to 2 patients,
depending on acuity. Staffing includes one day shift secretary and
primary RN staffing. Required equipment includes standard critical
care equipment, as well as Impella and Hemosphere advanced
monitoring platforms. The documentation system used in this unit is
Meditech. Scheduling is participative, and management reserves the
right to adjust staffing as necessary. Nurses are required to work
a minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month. Floating to other units is
required as necessary. Nurses are expected to explain care and
medications clearly and treat patients with courtesy and respect.
Call lights must be answered in a timely manner. Certifications
required include ACLS and BLS. CCRN certification is a plus. The
required uniform consists of navy scrubs. Designated critical care
staff respond to emergencies and codes in the facility. Traveling
nurses will be subject to float within departments as necessary. 5
