Overview The Team Lead – Shipping is responsible for overseeing
daily outbound fulfillment operations, ensuring orders are picked,
packed, documented, and shipped accurately and on time. This role
combines hands-on execution with frontline leadership to support
team productivity, maintain quality standards, and ensure smooth
coordination with carriers and internal stakeholders. Key
Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations Lead, coach, and
support shipping associates in daily fulfillment activities Assign
tasks, monitor throughput, and ensure shipping deadlines and
schedules are met Train new team members on shipping procedures,
systems, and safety requirements Maintain a clean, safe, and
organized shipping area aligned with warehouse standards Escalate
shipment delays, staffing concerns, or operational risks to the
Warehouse Manager Order Fulfillment & Shipping Execution Oversee
picking, packing, and staging of outbound orders based on sales
orders and schedules Verify item accuracy, quantities, serial
numbers, and required documentation prior to shipment Ensure
correct generation of shipping labels, packing slips, and Bills of
Lading (BOLs) Coordinate daily carrier pickups (e.g., UPS, FedEx,
freight carriers) and resolve routine carrier issues Confirm proper
packaging and labeling to prevent damage during transit Ensure
shipment status updates are accurately recorded in ERP/WMS systems
Accuracy, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Monitor order
accuracy, on-time shipment metrics, and documentation quality
Investigate and resolve basic shipping discrepancies or delivery
issues Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions related
to shipping errors or damages Identify process improvements to
increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput Ensure compliance
with company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent 2 years
of warehouse, fulfillment, or shipping experience preferred Prior
experience leading, training, or mentoring team members is an asset
Familiarity with shipping systems, carrier portals, and ERP/WMS
platforms preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and
accuracy in order fulfillment Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and
stand for extended periods in a warehouse environment Basic
computer proficiency and comfort working within operational systems
Strong co mmunication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
