Summary
The System Administrator works with the IT team to design,
implement, and maintain innovative and reliable IT services to
enable EOSYS' employees to maximize their efficiency and
productivity. Their focus is on developing expertise in the
network, server infrastructure and cloud system technologies that
company's systems are built on.
IT System Administrator Responsibilities
* Use available monitoring and diagnostic tools to proactively
identify potential issues before they affect end users
* Minimize downtime of IT services and troubleshoot and resolve
unexpected failures of server and network hardware/software
* Research and diagnose problems that cannot be immediately
resolved, working with software, hardware, and service vendors to
open and resolve support cases where necessary
* Work independently on systems and technologies of intermediate
complexity and work with guidance on more complex environments
* Maintain and follow documented IT procedures and processes
* Perform regular patching and maintenance of servers and network
infrastructure
* Monitor system performance and follow up on abnormal
conditions
* Perform scheduled recovery tests and environment restores
* Monitor and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) system
* Participate in analyzing company needs and proposing software and
hardware solutions to meet those needs
* Work under guidance in the specification, procurement,
installation and configuration of server and network software and
hardware
* Participate in maintaining good IT documentation and procedures,
including updating existing documentation and identifying and
drafting new documentation where appropriate
* Participate in organizational disaster recovery planning
* Provide off-hours support, when necessary, for system maintenance
and downtime events
* Provide support and assistance to the security manager/department
as needed to assist with events and incidents
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 2+ years of
relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
* The following certifications are preferred but not required:
* CompTIA Server+
* CompTIA Security+
* Other relevant certifications will be considered
* Must be able to work extended hours, when needed, and able to
work at night or non-traditional shifts as needed.
* Must be available to work on Saturday and Sunday as needed.
* Must be able to travel to other office locations as needed, and
some overnight stays may be required.
This position will be involved in design, configuration, and
troubleshooting in a variety of technologies and services, with
some examples listed here. Experience and proficiency in all of
these environments is not a prerequisite for the position, but will
receive consideration:
* Microsoft client and server Operating Systems
* Active Directory (FSMO roles, group policy, etc.)
* Cloud services deployment and management (Office 365, Exchange,
SharePoint, etc.)
* Teams with voice calling
* Anti-spam/malware/virus strategies (Defender/ATP)
* Exchange Server
* SQL Server
* DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.
* Windows certificate infrastructure
* IIS, SSL, etc.
* MFA (Multi-factor Authentication)
* Hardware Authentication Devices (smart cards, security tokens,
etc.)
* VPN (client/server and site-to-site)
* Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Windows scripting (VBScript, PowerShell, etc.)
* Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
* TCP/IP networking (switch/router configuration, VLANs,
subnetting, etc.)
* Basic understanding of the OSI 7-layer model
