We are looking for a Sr. Materials Analyst. In this role you will
be responsible for managing the purchase part planning department
for direct and indirect materials. The main objectives are to
ensure on-time delivery of purchase parts to support production
schedule and achieve customer satisfaction; optimize personnel,
equipment and inventories; inventory accuracy; anticipate and
resolve problems with short-term containment and permanent
corrective action. You will be a liaison between the vendors,
schedulers and manufacturing to ensure that requirements are met
100% on time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be
assigned)
Select, motivate, train and ensure development of a competent
Materials Planners staff
Ensure material planners establish and maintain ERP planning
parameters
Ensure team monitors vendor orders and variation
For critical issues, analyze demand and variation to ensure root
cause analysis and actions
Communicate and resolve critical issues with vendors as
required
Communicate critical materials issues to Materials Manager and
Production Schedulers
Establish, monitor and control department KPIs that will
effectively contribute to the overall manufacturing objectives,
company goals and customer satisfaction
Support new Suppliers part number set up, MRP parameter setting and
minimum monthly reviews
Inventory management / optimization
Escalate underperforming suppliers, root cause analysis and follow
up to action plans to improve
Premium freight recovery from suppliers
Support compliance of receiving process, ERP system adherence
(ASNs), system accuracy and integrity
Participate in projects that drive continuous improvement
Align with engineering changes, product balance outs and new
product launches
Align with Continuous Improvement / Process Leads for establishing
optimum storage locations, methods for handling (conveyance),
proximity, 5S and visual management
Align with Quality as required in resolving the disposition of
non-conforming materials
Monitor and ensure departmental personnel conform to company
policies and procedures while maintaining a safe and cost-efficient
environment at all time
Be familiar with and ethically operate in accordance with
applicable laws, regulations, and governmental procedures relative
to reporting activities
Required Experience
Education/ Work Experience
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) or equivalent in Supply Chain Management,
Engineering or Finance
4 to 7 years of applicable suppliers materials planning experience;
2 to 3 years of formal leadership experience
APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) CPIM
certification desirable
Automotive or JIT environment experience desirable
Applied lean manufacturing techniques including value stream
mapping, leveling demand, Kanban calculations and techniques
desirable
Experience with supply chain visibility tools
Trained in Six Sigma methodology desirable
Demonstrate minimum 4 years experience with ERP SAP System and
suppliers planning methods and strategies
Qualifications - Required Skills
Advanced broad-based supply chain management, process development
and manufacturing operations knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP ERP Systems
Superior organization, planning, technical and negotiation
skills
Superior process, analytical and problem solving skills apply /
execute formal techniques (e.g. Kepner Tregoe, 8D)
Superior leadership skills influence all facets of the
organization, mentoring, coaching and teaching
