Job Description:
Summary of Job: This Position is responsible for the
documentation and software programming for all types of HVAC and
process control systems and perform maintenance and service for our
HVAC/ Mechanical site-based customers. This position is also
responsible for building automation system commissioning and
training for facility operators. BAS Integrator is responsible for
the integration of multiple facility systems into one platform. BAS
Integrator will work with communication protocols that include but
not limited to, BACnet MSTP, Echelon, Modbus, BACnet IP, and Scada.
As well, HVAC Service duties include repairs and maintenance to a
variety of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning,
electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors,
light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust
fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic
compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air
compressors, air driers, chillers, and packaged units.Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews project instructions, drawings, and blueprints to
ascertain specifications, procedures, objectives, nature of
technical problems, and possible solutions.
- Creation and implementation of BAS programming strategies.
- Programming and commissioning of multiple control systems.
- Creation and implementation of custom graphics as it relates to
mechanical equipment and floor plans.
- Assist other technicians in updating control documents for
changes made during installation for compilation into
as-builts.
- Assist in the installation and check-out of control system
components. Serves customers by answering questions and requests
under the supervision of the controls project manager.
- Maintains internal and external customer satisfaction by
promptly responding to requests and communications.
- Assists with the installation of conduit and wire as it relates
to the construction of control system.
- Assist in, or perform, the installation of control components,
completion of checklists, and provide feedback on the project
status and site conditions
- Keeping track of timecard information and expense reports
- Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components
under operational conditions to investigate system performance or
to obtain data for quality control
- Expand knowledge through self-study and through company
sponsored training programs
- Assist with sub-contractor on-site coordination as required to
ensure scope of work understanding for successful completion of
project
- Understand the implications of material and labor planning
decisions as they affect the financial success of the project
- Follow all internal and external safety policies
- Other duties may be assigned
- Diagnoses problems in the refrigeration circuit
- Performs refrigeration recovery, evacuation, and charging
- Size and install refrigerant piping
- Troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits
- Diagnoses problems in the heating system using a gas pressure
test and other devices for routine maintenance and to
troubleshoot/repair
- Performs combustion analysis on all combustible heating systems
and analyzes results
- Reads wiring advanced wiring diagrams; troubleshoots advanced
electrical circuits
- Treat air to control temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and
distribution
- Diagnose problems in the heating system
- Install/maintain/repair a variety of systems to include air
cooled, water cooled, hot water systems, chilled water systems, VAV
systems, and steam heating systems
- Troubleshoot repair/replace electric motors, heating units,
heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces,
boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers,
humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split
systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and
packaged unitsEducation and Experience:
- Universal EPA Certification
- Minimum of 5+ years of Industrial HVAC Service/Industrial
Maintenance experience preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of BAS/ Controls experience preferred
- Required is a HS diploma or greater
- Installation & Commissioning Interoperability of systems, or
equivalent
- HVAC Electrical Troubleshooting, or equivalent
- AX Certified, or equivalent
- BAS Advanced Applications
- Experience in IT networksSkills and Abilities:
- BAS Protocols - Develops an understanding of BAS communication
protocols
- Electrical Knowledge Has an in depth understanding of Ohms Law
and electrical circuits
- Blueprints - Understands the basic concepts of blueprints and
schematic drawings
- HVAC Systems Develops advanced understanding of HVAC systems
and components
- Hydronic Systems Understands the basics of chilled, condenser
and hot water systems
- Air Side Systems Understands the basics of variable and
constant volume air flows.
- Certifications Possesses Siemens, Honeywell and/or Trane BAS
certifications
- Variable Frequency Drives Understands concepts of VFDs and the
ability to perform operational function checks
- Test and Balance Understands the basic concepts of Test and
Balance procedures
- Computer Skills Possesses basic computer skills to include
Microsoft Office products
- Valves & Actuators Ability to identify, size and create valve
and actuator schedules
- Building Automation Systems Ability to download and adjust BAS
programs. Perform functional checks of mechanical systems
- IT Networks Understand the basics of IT networks to include
networking and configuration of systems
- Design Software Working knowledge of AutoCad
- Control Signals Understands types and capabilities of differing
control signals
- Scope Understands and possesses ability to develop scope of
work

strong understanding of IT networks and protocols. Integrator must
