Job Description Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count freight. The position is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform freight verification, documentation procedures, sorting and segregating as needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION: Loading and unloading goods from vehicles and staging for consolidation. Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the trucks battery and lubricating equipment. Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards. Obtain a copy of inbound/outbound routes schedule and ensure proper cut times and reloads are maintained for customer support. Assist with yard checks Be proactive in communication with cross dock management regarding issues and needs Duties and Tasks as assigned by Management. Regular and predictable attendance Requirements: OTHER SIGNIFICANTJOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: Additional duties as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma Previous Forklift/Cross Dock experience PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE High School Diploma / GED REQUIRED SKILLS (TECHNICAL, CLERICAL, LANGUAGE, ETC.) Excellent communication skills verbal and written Ability to work in a safety sensitive environment at the plant and yard operations Ability to communicate with many levels of personnel internal and external customers Ability to challenge the status quo and work positively to improve our operation PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. WORK ENVIRONMENT Outdoor work- year round.
